AGW updates:

she woke up at 6 am this morning and burst into song! I could hear her happily singing on the baby monitor and when she got tired, she closed her eyes and went right back to sleep. I listened to every single note and cherished her silly little song!

She now says "yesh" instead of "yep"

she loves to hug and kiss "her baby" in my belly

so far "geen" is her favorite color. "bue" is 2nd

her name is "Aizey"

if she thinks something is neat "ooooh! Maan!"

she loves to kick and throw a ball

we can hardly keep her indoors

she LOVES to sing and dance

Today was all about AGW. Aren't most days though? She brought me to tears with laughter several times today and I just fell in love over and over again. It started at breakfast. She LOVES oatmeal and has even started eating a second package! The 1st package of apple-Cinnamon is gone in less than two minutes and she insists on "mowr, mowr?"! Neither Carey or I like that flavor so it works out perfectly. So today AGW refused to stay in her booster seat after she discovered that her 2nd bowl was still too hot. She just had to sit in her daddy's lap. Being the sweetheart that she is, she also felt the need to share her "bites" with daddy. Trying to be a good role model, Carey suffered through several disgusting spoonfuls of the apple stuff before AGW realized that he wasn't exactly eating everything on the hot pink baby spoon. She decided to start helping him by repeatedly licking the spoon and handle before shoving it quickly back into her daddy's mouth. At first Carey wasn't paying much attention and couldn't figure out why I was laughing hysterically, but after a few slobbery jabs to the mouth he caught on and decided breakfast was over. I'm pretty sure he had lost his appetite.

The rest of the day was just as much fun. My baby is able to curl up in my lap and cuddle for a few minutes between many adventures with her babies, tractor, and T.V. remote control. I cherish every second of this cuddle time. She is also learning up, down, on, off, and her colors. It's so much fun to see her learn and grown into such a big girl! I never imagined how much joy such a little girl could bring into my life!!

Oh, I guess I should mention that we finally got a house! The inspection went well and the sellers agreed to close on May 28th. We have one month to visit friends and family as much as possible before beginong our new adventure in Cincinnati!

Hanging in there

We received some bad news on Monday: the dream house was in fact host to high levels of bad mold. Carey and I had made up our minds weeks before to back out of the contract if the results read this way. It was extremely disappointing news, but we had to move on quickly in order to find another house and qualify for the tax rebate. We actually found several houses. We are on Plan F (B through E were either already under contract or were terrible in person. We sent our realtor to scout for us.)I'm surprisingly happy with F. It is the smallest house we've considered by far, but it's very comfy and cozy. With the small size comes a smaller price tag and hopefully smaller utility bills. We aren't under contract yet and we have not had an inspection, so there are still hurdles ahead. I feel very positive and at peace about this one though, almost like God was hinting that the others were just a bit more than we could handle. It still has a wonderful yard and I can't wait to get there and start landscaping and nesting! Our fingers are crossed again and we're praying that this is finally the house that God intended for us all along!

As you can see, there aren't many pictures of this one available. Hopefully we can get the seller to send more! There are a few projects that we need to tackle right off. Every room desperately needs a face lift. A little paint will go a long way in each room of our new little cottage. I also have big plans of knocking down a wall that separates the teeny-tiny kitchen and the dining room. Hopefully Carey will let me and it will open up the space a bit. We'll see about this project. After I confirm that it's not a support wall, I may have to start the project on my own so that he'll have no choice but to let me finish! :) Other than paint and a little demolition, we hope we don't have to tackle any other projects before Carey starts work. I'll immediately get busy adding color to all sides of the house with window boxes, flowering pots, and maybe a small garden. The shutters and front door will also enjoy some updating. Lots of big plans for this cute little cottage. We hope this one works out!

Pictures

It's Saturday night. My baby girl is spending the weekend with grandparents and Carey is filling out extensive employment paperwork. They want to know everything down to identifying marks. I'm not very exciting today, sorry folks. I thought I would take this extra bit of time (extra time!!) to catch up on some pictures. Enjoy! Baby Watson #2! Sucking his/her thumb Whoa! Bad hair day? This picture doesn't do her battle wounds justice. They looked a lot worse in person! My silly girl! Prettiest smile! This truck = Papaw to us grandkids! "No pictures!" Kickin' it in "Nati" Cuddle Bugs Cincinnati Chili: Chili, Cheese, Spaghetti. Weird but good! Big girl backpack!!! Best Burger in Plainview German Beer

Organization. Or lack of...

I have a new personal goal: organization. It doesn't come naturally and I'll have to fight decades of habits, but I can tell it something I need to work on. I've been watching my Nannie go through papework all week. The great thing is that my grandparents kept everything. The bad thing is that she is having to go through EVERYTHING to get the things she actually needs. I've decided to try my best to get my business in some sort of order so that no one has to sort through my crap for days. It shouldn't be too dificult right now, I don't own a thing. I guess I can start by organizing all my bills ;)

Updates

I've been a slacker lately. I vow to do better. Here are our updates.

AGW: Poor baby caught a virus on the way to "Nati" and is trying to recover. She has been a tough little booger with all of the traveling and changes over the last few weeks. Her favorite words are still yep and nope, although she is does surprise me on a daily basis with her vocabulary.

Carey: feeling very confident in our new hometown of Cincinnati. During our visit last week he was actually able to experience more than just the halls of the hospital and enjoy the town a little bit. We both agree that our family will love the area. He is in the process of submitting all of his employment papers and wrapping up everything for graduation.

Emma and Cash: have not left our sides since we returned from our trip. They both insist of sleeping between us in bed at night; Cash between our legs and Emma between our heads. They need lots of lovin' these days!

Me: I appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers over the last week. My family is doing well and we are glad that Papaw is singing and dancing on the streets of gold!

We did have an ultrasound yesterday and just knew that we would be able to find out whether we would have another sweet little girl or a brand new boy. We were sent home extremely disappointed, but happy to report that everything looks good so far. We have another appointment after graduation but we hope that we won't be around to make it! If we have already moved, we are considering just not finding out at all. I'm not sure that I can actually go through with that, but we'll see!

The house update is rather complicated. We are still waiting to find out what kind of mold is in the house. The environmental group came out today and tested. We should know by Monday if it was the "bad" mold. I think Carey and I have decided not to go through with the process if it turns out to be bad. We also are waiting on a structural engineer to checkout a few things for us. If the house needs support beams added, we can't go through with it. Seems like a lot of IF's. That's the problem! We also found out that our #2 house is under contract now. So we are back at square 1 if our dream house falls through. Luckily we have an amazing realtor who understands what we want and is already sending us wonderful new listings. I feel confident that God has our perfect house for us and is teaching us a thing or two about faith and patience! :)

Papaw meets Jesus

Today I'm trying so hard to celebrate. My Papaw got to go home to meet Jesus. I'm so happy for him but I'm sad beyond words to not see him again on this earth. I was fortunate enough to have spent time with him in the last several weeks, but it's never enough. Rest in peace Papaw. We'll be seeing you soon!

Fingers Crossed!

We have an awesome realtor! Sharon added a house to our list yesturday because she just thought it looked like a "Watson-y" house. She couldn't have been more right! It was our dream house and love at first sight.

Hopefully everything will workout with the inspection on Friday, then it's ours! Our very own cape cod with a double lot. Sometimes I can't believe how God blesses us!

AGW loves the house and yard. She ran and climbed until she just pooped out. Then she ran some more!

All 3 bedrooms are on the 2nd floor within a few feet of each other. AGW and baby #2 will share a wall. It may be tough for any of us to get sleep those first few months! :) The bedrooms have great windows and AGW already loves to sit in front of them. I'll make sure to give her plenty of seating options near windows so that she can daydream.

The main floor has the livingroom, dinning room, kitchen, 1/2 bath, office, and sun room. I have a few projects in mind for the kitchen but I have a feeling it will be a while before Carey lets me knock down any walls.

Our main priorities are to fence the yard, finish the basement, and add a garage. This will cost a pretty penny, but you will never believe the steal we got with this property. Every cent we put in we will profit from in the future!

The ideal basement will eventually consist of a bathroom (now there is just a random toilet in an open corner, but it works!) a nice laundry area, play area, guest bedroom, storage, and project area :) None of these spaces will be really big, but it will be nice to have in the next several years. I know it will be a painfully slow process, but that's the fun of making it our own.

Oh! I can't forget the neighborhood! Every house is old and charming and so well kept. The lawns are lushous green with brightly colored flowers around the trees. Our neighbor's houses are adorable and perfectly manicured. I never imagined we would live on a block so cute! Even the Mt. Washington Fire Station is another adorable brick building that was converted from an old brick church or something.

I every time we went to the house I watched to see what kind of action was on the street. In the last 2 days I saw more than 5 women jogging at different times of the day. 3 with strollers. 1 with dog and stroller. I saw a few pre-tween boys goofing off riding bikes in the middle of the street. All of this was very comforting to see and made me feel like the area was very safe. Plus, we are blocks from other residents in all directions which tells us that the commute isn't too bad either.

AGW has been the most amazing toddler on this trip. She's such a good sport! 20 houses in a single day was a challenge, but she handled it so well. A few very minor fits at the end of the day when she was tired of getting in and out of her carseat. Other than that, she's been great.

We have an open day tomorrow so we're sleeping in, going to the aquarium and then I'm treating myself to an Ikea visit. Window shopping only, of course! Because the house is 75 years old, I will need to be creative with closet storage and furniture arrangement. Ikea has great options for even better prices. I can't wait to be inspired.

We are absolutely, positively in love with this city! It's so old and beautiful. Even the run-down buildings facinate me. You never know what went on within the walls! Plus, the river is so fun to see, there are too many parks to count, and so many things to do! I can't wait to get here and explore when we have more time on our hands.

Cincy!!!

We made it! AGW survived the 4 a.m. drive and our 5 hour flight. She did great! She slept to Dallas and then played all of the way to Ohio. She seems to be handling the chaos very well. It helps that our hotel lobby has a fountain area and agw thinks it's the greatest thing she's ever seen.

We don't have Internet access on our laptops so my blogs won't have pictures until we're at home. I may have to submit several short posts each day because I'm struggling to find time to write everything all at once!

We LOVE it here already and I'm thinking that Austin may have some competition!

Back in the saddle!

It's been a while. I apologize. It's not like we've been busy or anything! :) We survived stage 1 of the moving process. We are out of our house, in fact, we don't even have a house anymore. We are currently crashing all of the grandparent's houses!
