It's Thursday, AGW is in school, Carey is post-call, and I'm having a coffee date with my boys. We take advantage of our Thursday-Friday afternoons and try to get out of the house. Carey always has something he has to read or study for the next day and usually I'm behind on updating all of you. Soon Hayes won't be content to just sit and stare out the window, so we cherish these afternoons while we have them.
Hayes: Oh my, how I have a Momma's boy. I just as attached to him as he is to me and we're both struggling to let go. He's almost 5 months old and we've developed the "bad" habit of co-sleeping. I was paranoid about co-sleeping with AGW and refused to do it, but you know how things start to go out the window with the 2nd child. I'm a lot more relaxed with him. So... he sometimes (most of the time) sleeps with me. BUT for the sake of my husband, I'm trying to wean myself from my baby. It's a slow process though.
Hayes' personality is really coming alive lately. He loves to squeal and chatter and my very favorite is the huge, tooth-less, smile that lights up his big blue eyes and makes you just want to scoop him up and pinch his chubby cheeks. Can you tell I'm so in love? :) He loves to giggle and jump and play with his big sister. He automatically gives you a big, gummy grin when you look at him. He's found his feet and is fascinated with them, of course. He's also found AGW's hair...that's always a tough situation.
Aisley Grace: My sweet little Aisley is very busy lately. Her activities include chasing the animals, squealing, running through the house, fussing, begging to be held, climbing and jumping off furniture. We've made some changes in our discipline techniques (Thank you Erin!) and everyone is a little less grumpy lately. She is such a sweetheart, but she does love to see how much she can get away with! School is still a huge priority to her and she can't wait for the end of the week to arrive. I think she would benefit from more stimulation and socialisation, so we are increasing to 3 days at school next year.
Carey: The new rotation is at the Veterans Affairs Hospital across from the University Hospital. Carey really loves that he gets to operate more (he took out a spleen this morning!) and that he gets to actively participate in cases that he would only observe at UC Hospital. He does get bored though, because other than those operating case, there is not much going on. OH! Carey did really well on his ABSITE exam!!! Yay for him!
Me: I'm still training for my half marathon and I'm starting to mess with some projects. That must mean that the sun is shining a little more and that spring is near! I'm a different personal during this cold, gray weather. I made Carey go on a post-call hike a few days ago, I just couldn't wait anymore! I'm soooooooo anxious to get out and go hiking, I bet I don't allow him much rest this spring! I found 60 hikes within 60 miles from a website and I can't wait to go explore!
All of the animals are great and nothing else is going on right now. Until next time....
