Wayward: self-willed; rebellious; unruly; impulsive

I wrote this a week ago and never finished it. That seems to happen on a weekly basis these days. I've decided that something is better than nothing so from now on, I'm publishing what I have, finished or not. Enjoy...

It's been awhile, I know. I feel terrible. Let me see if I can play catch up really quick. It has to be quick because this boy beside me doesn't like when Mommy isn't paying attention to him! OK, scratch that. I'll try to type with him in my lap...

I tried to upload the Christmas program without success. It's too bad because it was adorable. Speaking of Christmas, it was great. Different, but great. I have to admit that I missed all of the hustle and bustle and family around. But we did enjoy a white Christmas and we were all together, so that was amazing. Hayes seemed to have a fabulous first Christmas and of course, AGW had the best Christmas yet! It seems like everyone made up for our separation in gifts for the babies! They didn't mind a bit! :)

Carey and I played Santa for the 1st of many years to come. We both enjoyed it but made the novice mistake of not buying enough batteries for all of the toys. Lesson learned.

The end of the year brought the end of night float and the beginning of Carey's Surgical Intensive Care Unit Rotation. So far it's been great for us because he's home quite a bit. He gets off early the days before and after call which is great. He also gets a full day off each week so we're actually getting to see each other. He seems to be enjoying this rotation as well because he's getting to be hands on. You know how important that is to him!

At this moment he's studying to take the American Board of Surgery In service Training Exam at the end of the month. This is a knowledge based exam that he will continue to take even when he's officially on his own as a surgeon. It basically provides assurance that he's continuing to keep up with everything changing in his field. I think...
