Wayward: self-willed; rebellious; unruly; impulsive

It's a call night. That usually means that it will be a long, rough night. AGW and I carried on our tradition of chick flick movie night and now she is fighting her way to sleep. I hate that for her, she just loves going to sleep with her daddy. I try to wear her out, but she's just used to a night time routine that includes her daddy. It's their special time together.

Anyway.... around her things are pretty boring. I'm not complaining, that's a good thing. Today I dug out the fall decor and put out what I could. I seem to be missing somethings (go figure) and will probably find them when I'm decorating for Christmas.

AGW has started a new thing: she loves to help. She has to hold my hand and help me up from my chair, down the stairs, and to and from each room in the house. She honestly is a very thoughtful 2 year old. She also has a very kind heart. When a "friend" (usually a kid near by that she has never interacted with whatsoever) is upset, she will go over to them, pat them on the back, and ask "ok?". She becomes very concerned when someone is clearly upset and is learning to show compassion by comforting them any way she can. She's also been known to bring me or one of her puppies her lovie if she thinks it will help us feel better. I love watching her display this compassion for others and hope to encourage it continuously. I'm sure she will be a great helper when her baby comes!

Now don't get me wrong, we are still struggling through the terrible two's. This week has been especially challenging. I've tried really hard to crack down and be very consistent with her discipline because I don't want to wait until I have no patience when Hayes is here to enforce the rules. So this week we are working on controlling her sass, and she has lots of it!

Carey was lucky enough to come home early a few days this week. It was perfect timing with my increased level of exhaustion and AGW's persistent battles. CT is going well although he's not getting to see the inside of the OR as much as he'd like. Being able to witness his first open-heart surgery made things a little better though.
